To be very honest I was already aware that Malta wasn’t at all a paradise for cyclists but my personal experience of these days went well beyond any possible imagination.
Traffic everywhere, air smelling of combusted diesel exhausts, no cycle dedicated lanes.
A bit better the North-East of the island and the minor nearby island of Gozo.
